Japan's chip sales recovery in July

In July 2011, the preparation of the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Organization (WSTS) and the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported that the three-month average of global semiconductor sales was US$24.85 billion.

In essence, this is basically the same as the average sales of $2.468 billion for the three months in the previous quarter, which is 1.1% lower than the figure for the same period of last year.

The numbers are roughly in line with analyst expectations - Bruce Diesen is expected to reach $24.8 billion and Mike Cowan's forecast of $25 billion. In the Japanese market also showed signs of recovery, the Japanese market was the fastest-growing market this month compared to the previous quarter, the WSTS track area.

Japan’s 3-month monthly average sales were US$3.77 trillion, an increase of 4.9% from the same period in the three months in June. All other regions - the Americas, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region have declined, and the seasonal norms run counter to it. However, despite its economic recovery, Japan’s data for July was 10.3%, lagging behind July 2010 data, while Europe and the Asia Pacific region were 0.7% and 1.5%, respectively.

The monthly data released by Singapore Airlines and the European Semiconductor Industry Association is an average of three months. This makes the sales for the month and the first two months of any given month as average sales. Singapore Airlines and ESIA like the current data, because it shows the smooth actual data, usually at the beginning of the quarter when the trough, and the end of the quarter at the peak.
