Germany leads the standardization process and pushes Industry 4.0 to the world

The German industry and the country's authorities in the field of standardization jointly announced that the "Industry 4.0 Standardization Council" will be officially established at the Hannover Industrial Exhibition, which opened on April 25, to propose the relevant standards for the industrial 4.0 digital products and to coordinate their cooperation in Germany. It describes the future picture of the full use of information technology in factories and the high degree of networking between systems.

The German Foreign Ministry said that the future of the German economy lies in Industry 4.0. Germany expects to become itself a leading supplier of Industry 4.0 and Europe's leading country for digital growth through economic growth through the “Digital Agenda”. Some studies predict that in the case of smooth development, Industry 4.0 will likely increase by 200 billion to 425 billion euros by 2025.

Prior to this, Germany has released the "Industrial 4.0 Standardization Roadmap". As the initiator of this concept, Germany hopes to continue to lead the development of Industry 4.0 by leading the standardization process.

The institutions involved in the establishment of the above-mentioned “Industry 4.0 Standardization Council” include the German Federal Ministry of Information Economy, Communication and Media Association (Bitkom), the German Institute of Standardization (DIN), the German Electrical and Electronic and Information Technology Committee (DKE), and the German Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Association. (VDMA) and the German Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry Association (ZVEI).

Through the establishment of the above-mentioned council, Germany will form the three platforms of “Industry 4.0 Platform”, “Industry 4.0 Laboratory Network” and “Industry 4.0 Standardization Council” to jointly promote the situation of Industry 4.0 from Germany to the world.

The "Industry 4.0 Platform" is a coordinating body established under the auspices of the German Federal Minister of Economics and Energy Gabriel and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Wanka, to carry out the process of specifically promoting the Industry 4.0 process. There are several specialized working groups. However, the newly established Industry 4.0 Standardization Council will not be attached to the Industry 4.0 platform, and its organization will be located in the German Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology Committee.
