The State Council released the "New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan" on July 20th, emphasizing that AI has become a key driver for economic growth and a catalyst for a new wave of industrial transformation. It will transform sectors like production, distribution, exchange, and consumption, profoundly impacting daily life. The plan also sets an ambitious goal for China to become the global leader in AI innovation by 2030. Across China, cities are actively fostering distinctive AI initiatives, such as smart manufacturing, big data, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, speech recognition, and robotics.
Some argue that AI could spark the fourth industrial revolution, following the transformative waves brought by steam technology, electricity, and information technology. Given its profound implications, what ethical, legal, and societal challenges does AI present?
To address these issues, NetEase Intelligence has interviewed numerous AI experts in its "AI Heroes" section. Many emphasize the urgent need to educate the public about AI, which is crucial for both technological advancement and commercial success.
AI is neither a deity nor irrelevant. To this end, NetEase Technology, NetEase Intelligence, and NetEase’s local teams are launching a high-end urban forum titled "AI Open Class," focusing on AI themes. This initiative aims to deliver a series of open courses across 20 cities nationwide in 2017. The program will feature top scientists, CEOs, investors, and entrepreneurs discussing AI's impact and future prospects.
"NetEase AI Open Class" will also leverage NetEase News clients, NetEase Open Class, and other platforms to maximize reach. Through a combination of offline recordings and online video formats, the event will transcend time and space barriers, ensuring the widest possible dissemination of insights. Debate Process (15:40-16:30):
1. Opening Arguments: Each side presents their case;
2. Crossfire: Two rounds of rebuttals between the two teams (5 minutes each);
3. Cross-Examination: Both sides question each other twice; responses are limited to 15 seconds per question and 2 minutes per response;
4. Summaries: Each team delivers a 3-minute summary;
5. Audience Q&A: Four rounds of questions from the audience, with responses from both sides (time limit: 15 seconds per question, 2 minutes per response);
6. Final Vote: Audience votes on the debate outcome.
Interactive Format: On-site viewers can follow screens, scan codes to participate in polls, ask questions, and receive answers.
