Nanjing sampling inspection 42 batches of market sales LED bulb lamp logo description are not up to standard

Nowadays, LED lamps are everywhere, and have become the main lighting products in the public. However, the production process of LED bulbs is simple, the entry threshold is low, and the products on the market are mixed. Yesterday, Nanjing Consumers Association conducted a comparison experiment on LED bulbs sold in the local market. The results showed that: of the 42 batches of LED bulbs, all batches of the logos were not up to standard, and nearly 50% of the sample power indicators were not. Qualified, over 60% of the sample color rendering index is not up to standard. The reporter learned that when the color rendering index is lower than 80 (or the color temperature is higher than 4000K), high-energy blue light will endanger people's eye health and cause irreversible permanent damage.

Experimental result

Super 60% color rendering index is not up to standard, long-term use will be harmed by blue light

Power, light efficiency, and color rendering index are three key indicators that affect the performance quality of LED bulbs. A total of 42 batches of samples were compared in this comparison experiment. All the samples were marked with the power of the product itself, but only 20 batches were marked for the light effect, and 17 batches were marked for the display index, of which 6 batches were marked. The display index is lower than the test standard requirement. Therefore, all the samples to be inspected have problems of incomplete identification.

It is understood that LED bulbs are mainly used to replace incandescent lamps for indoor lighting. The standard requirements LED bulbs should be marked with the power of the replaced incandescent lamps, which is convenient for consumers to choose. However, in this comparative experiment, there are only 25 batches marked with this item, and the labeling rate is less than 60%.

Color rendering is an important indicator of lighting quality. In lighting product standards, the color rendering index of products used for indoor lighting should reach 80 or more. The LED bulb has a light-emitting principle because the blue chip excites the yellow phosphor to emit mixed light, so it contains a large amount of blue light components and lacks red color, resulting in high color temperature and poor display. The experimenter said that the current number of LED bulbs on the market has a color rendering index of 70, which is less than 80. In this comparative experiment, 15 batches met the standard requirements, 27 batches did not meet the standard requirements, and the unqualified rate exceeded 60%.

The comparison results show that among the 42 batches of LED bulbs, the power index meets the requirements of 23 batches, the pass rate is 54.8%; the light efficiency index meets the standard requirements of 40 batches, the pass rate is 95.2%; the color tolerance index meets the requirements of 32 batches. The pass rate is 76.2%.

Consumption advice

When you purchase, you should see that the product color temperature should not be higher than 4000K.

Experts pointed out that the main purpose of LED bulbs is to replace incandescent lamps, so the relevant national standards have corresponding requirements for LED lumens instead of incandescent lamps. When consumers buy LED bulbs, they must look at the number of incandescent lamps replaced in the product packaging or manual, as well as whether the lumens have a clear indication.

The reporter learned that in this comparative experiment, some products do not mark the number of lumens, and replace the wattage by the virtual standard parameters, thus achieving the marketing purpose. For example, Rizhao photoelectric marked 7W, measured 4.7W, instead of 240-watt incandescent lamp; Soco marked 12W, measured 5.3W, instead of 100-watt incandescent lamp. The common denominator of these products is that they do not have a light effect and attempt to confuse consumers. When consumers choose, they must see whether their luminous flux has a logo instead of the corresponding wattage of incandescent lamps. Generally, it can be calculated according to the brightness of 10 lumens corresponding to 1 watt. For example, a 100-watt incandescent lamp, the same brightness LED bulb needs 1000. lumen.

LED lighting products have been recognized by the society as the fourth generation of light sources, but in the choice of products, we must pay attention to the choice of corresponding parameters according to their own purposes. According to the standard, when LED lighting is used in household occasions, the color temperature can't be greater than 4000K; when it is higher than 4000K, high-energy blue light will cause eye damage to humans. Once irreversible macular lesions are formed, permanent damage will occur.

“In the market, high color temperature LED light source has higher light efficiency, while high color temperature is more irritating to the human eye, resulting in high brightness illusion, and high color temperature product cost is relatively low, so the market has high color temperature products. More." Experts said that at this stage it is recommended to choose products with a color temperature of not more than 4000K. Lamps such as table lamps and bedside lamps should avoid the use of LED bulbs to avoid the danger of high-energy blue light.
