How to use the drop hammer impact tester?

Drop Hammer Impact Tester Usage:

1. Based on the test requirements, determine the mass of the hammer and the impact height, and prepare the sample accordingly.

2. Determine the mass of the hammer:

2.1 Correct configurations for different masses include:

- A: Hammer + Hammerhead + Nut = 0.50kg

- B: Hammer + Hammerhead + Nut = 1.75kg

- C: Hammer + Hammerhead + Hammer + Nut = 9.50kg

Weights are listed as follows:

Matching of hammer mass:

- For 0.5~1.75kg: Use A + Weight

- For 1.75~10.25kg: Use B + Weight

- For 10.25~16.00kg: Use C + Weight

Example: If the hammer mass is 4.0kg, it can be composed as 1.75kg (B configuration) + 0.25kg (weight) + 2.00kg (weight).

2.2 For R50 × 90 steel hammers:

- A: 1.25kg

- B: 2.50kg

- C: 10.25kg

2.3 When using an aluminum hammer head (R50 × 90) for a 1kg impact, select A + Aluminum Hammer + Nut = 1.00kg.

2.4 For a 0.25kg hammer impact, choose 0 + R50 × 25 (aluminum) + Round nut = 0.25kg.

3. Extend the hammer rod out of the sliding sleeve under the hammer seat, place the selected weight on the rod, and tighten the nut.

4. Turn on the power and enter the working state.

5. Press the "slow up" button to lift the hammer off the base and press "stop" to install the sample.

6. Open the test chamber door and place the sample on the iron platform.

7. Observe the red indicator light on the left photoelectric switch. If it’s off, the sample is too high; if it’s on, the sample is at the correct level. Adjust the lifting hand wheel so that the sample aligns with the phototube center.

8. Set the height zero point by using the "slow drop" and "slow rise" keys to make the hammer just touch the sample, then adjust the scale pointer to the 0 mark.

9. Close the protective cover and door, press the “fast up” button to lift the hammer to the desired height, then press “stop” once it reaches the target.

10. Perform the impact: First press the “pre-drop hammer” button to activate the system, then press “drop hammer” to release the hammer. If the pre-drop button doesn’t light, the sample is too high and needs adjustment. Once the sample is set, the hammer will drop immediately upon pressing “drop hammer.”

11. After impact, if the sample remains intact and the hammer rebounds, the photoelectric signal will clamp the hammer quickly to prevent secondary impacts.

12. Press the “Fall and Drop” button to lock the hammer in place by inserting the pin into the solenoid valve seat and pressing the micro switch.

13. Remove the sample, insert a new one, and repeat the process. Make necessary adjustments and inspections during the test.

14. To shut down, turn off the power box switch and the main power supply.
