**1. My Mouse Purchasing Experience**
I've gone through various types of mice over the years — from wired to wireless, from USB to Bluetooth, and even from regular to laser wireless models. One of the reasons I stopped using Apple’s mouse was its high price. Plus, since LD uses a Windows 10 system on her Intel NUC, an Apple mouse would have been a waste of features. At first, I considered buying a Logitech mouse, but they were too expensive, even for the cheaper models.
The second generation of the Logitech Anywhere 2S cost 479 yuan, which is suitable for small hands. However, the design wasn't very appealing — just plain blue. I gave it up. Then there was another model that looked better but was more suited for larger hands, which wouldn’t work for LD. After considering all options, I finally chose the Xiaomi Portable Mouse. Here’s why: First, it's affordable; second, it supports both 2.4G and Bluetooth modes, making it versatile; third, it's a laser mouse under 100 yuan, which is a great value for the price.
**Second, Xiaomi Portable Mouse Review**
**1. Unboxing**
The box came with the Xiaomi XMSB02MW mouse. On the back, you can see the model number. The side of the box describes the features: dual mode, aluminum alloy construction, and a weight of 77.5g. The front shows a slightly red image of the mouse. Inside, the mouse was wrapped in a plastic cover.
When I compared it with my old Logitech M510, the Xiaomi mouse was slightly narrower. I think it could look better with a different color. From the back, the Xiaomi mouse has a more rounded shape, while the Logitech feels more rugged. The left and right buttons on the Xiaomi are curved, while the Logitech ones are recessed and more comfortable for long use. The middle button on the Xiaomi is shorter.
On the back, there are two circles — one for the dual-mode switch and one for the power button. The battery cover is marked with instructions on how to open it. Inside, there are AA batteries and a USB receiver. It’s easy to install and operate.
**2. Usage**
Connecting the mouse via Bluetooth was straightforward. Once paired, it worked smoothly. I compared the weights of the two mice. The Logitech M510 with a battery weighed around 52g, while the Xiaomi mouse without a battery weighed only 38g. The USB receiver was lightweight at just 3g.
**Third, User Experience**
After using the Xiaomi mouse for a while, I found that the click feel was a bit stiff, and the sound was a bit hollow. The Logitech had a more natural curve and extra functions, such as the middle wheel and thumb buttons, which I really missed. However, after using the Xiaomi for a while, LD found it more comfortable. She likes the lighter feel, and with her small hands, it’s perfect for browsing and watching videos online.
