In power systems, oil circuit breakers play a critical role as essential equipment and the primary control components. Whether the system is under no-load, full load, or experiencing a short-circuit fault, the oil circuit breaker must operate reliably when needed—either opening or closing. Therefore, maintaining oil circuit breakers requires meticulous attention to ensure the safe and stable operation of the entire power grid.
When performing maintenance on oil circuit breakers, several key aspects should be carefully considered:
(1) The rotating parts of the oil circuit breaker should move smoothly without any bending or deformation.
(2) The arc extinguishing system must be installed in the correct position, with no misalignment between the upper and lower sections. The arc chamber should show no signs of damage or cracking due to arcing, and the central hole diameter must meet quality standards.
(3) The static contact should be installed in the correct orientation to ensure proper function.
(4) The travel distance of the moving contact must meet the specified requirements.
(5) The three-phase phase difference should be within the allowed limits.
(6) The tripping and closing times must conform to the required specifications.
(7) The trip linkage should be adjusted properly to ensure the oil circuit breaker can maintain the necessary operational state and trip reliably.
(8) The insulation cylinder should remain intact, undamaged, and the bakelite ring should be complete.
(9) All sealing gaskets should be intact and free from leaks.
(10) The copper-tungsten alloy block on the arcing contact of the static contact must not be severely burned. If the burned area exceeds one-third of the effective area, it should be replaced.
(11) The fingertip shrapnel should be in good condition, with appropriate contact pressure and reliable positioning.
(12) The check valve on the contact seat should function properly and move smoothly.
(13) The surface of the moving contact should be smooth and straight, with an intact silver plating layer. The copper-tungsten alloy head should be securely fastened, and the contact should not be severely burned.
These points must be carefully checked during the maintenance of oil circuit breakers. They are crucial for ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power system. Only by following these guidelines can we guarantee the safety of both personnel and equipment, and it is highly recommended that maintenance staff pay close attention to these details.
