Stone wear tester test requirements and methods
Test Requirements:
Each group contains four samples. The dimensions of the samples should be as follows: length and width are 50 mm ± 0.5 mm, and thickness ranges from 15 mm to 55 mm. The edges of the samples to be worn should be rounded with a radius of approximately 0.8 mm.
The samples must be placed in a thermostatic drying oven at 105°C ± 2°C for a certain period. After cooling to room temperature in a desiccator, the testing should proceed.
Testing Method:
- Measure the dry mass of the sample with an accuracy of 0.02g. Then place it into the wear testing machine. The abrasive used should conform to GB/T 2479-1996, with a grain size of 0.25mm. White fused alumina is recommended as the abrasive material. The sample is ground on a grinding disc of 225 mm. After the test, remove the sample and brush off any dust. Measure the weight again with an accuracy of 0.02g.
- Immerse the sample in water for 1 hour. After removal, wipe the surface with a damp cloth and weigh it. Calculate the bulk density according to GB/T 9966.3-2001. It's important to note that humidity can affect the grinding performance. Higher humidity may lead to a higher grinding rate. Therefore, it is recommended that the test be conducted in an environment with relative humidity between 30% and 40%.
- After completing the test, clean the surface of the sample thoroughly and cover it with a dust cover to protect it from contamination.
This procedure ensures accurate and consistent results while maintaining the integrity of the samples throughout the process.
