LED TV, which just entered the market in 2009, has become one of the most popular products in the field of flat panel TVs due to its ultra-thin body and energy-saving and environmental protection technology. Many home appliance manufacturers have increased their attention to LED TV.
According to the survey data of the Consumer Electronics Research Office of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, as of now, consumers have paid more attention to LED TV products by as much as 75%, and the proportion of consumers who are preparing to purchase LED TVs in 2010 is as high as 34%.
In this environment, Konka, TCL, Hisense, Skyworth, Changhong, Samsung and other well-known color TV brands have started LED TV as their main products since 2009. Especially in Konka and Hisense, basically all of its products use LED backlights, which completely realize the characteristics of ultra-thin, energy-saving and environmental protection of flat-panel TVs.
At the end of 2009, in addition to plans to expand five liquid crystal module production lines, the funds raised by Hisense Electric's additional issuance will also support the construction of five backlight module production lines, all using LED backlight technology.
Wu Gang, vice president of Konka Group, said that the five LED production lines built by Konka will be put into operation in March 2010. With the increase of independent production capacity, the price of Konka LED TV is expected to drop by nearly 30%.
Skyworth has now achieved full production of modules under 37 inches. Yang Dongwen, executive director of Skyworth Group, pointed out that in 3-5 years, it will concentrate resources on LED TV. It is estimated that the total LED TV produced by the company in 2010 will be 2 million units. In addition, the upstream, packaging, chip design and epitaxial sections of the LED industry chain will also be involved to ensure the integrity of the supply chain, but the way of intervention has not yet been determined.
