What is Abietic Acid Pineic Acid

Abietic Acid is the main component of Rosin, which accounts for 34% of its weight. At high temperatures for soldering, the acid can remove the slight oxide or passivation of the copper surface, allowing the clean copper surface to be soldered with an "interfacial alloying compound" (IMC) to complete the soldering. This rosin acid is very stable at normal temperature and will not corrode metal.
