Changguang Semiconductor Lighting: The national standard is missing. LED lamps are designed according to the ENERGY STAR standard.

With the advancement of LED technology, the penetration of LEDs into indoor lighting has gradually deepened. According to the forecast of the High-tech LED Industry Research Center, the global LED indoor lighting output value will reach 10.1 billion US dollars in 2011. The replacement of incandescent lamps and fluorescent tubes by LED lamps has become an irreversible trend. What is the current status of indoor LED lighting companies in China? Due to the needs of industry investigations, Gaogong LED reporter visited the domestic indoor LED lighting manufacturer Shenzhen Changguang Semiconductor Lighting Technology Co., Ltd.

Main focus on indoor lighting market

Indoor LED lighting fixtures are the main products of Changguang, and the chips used are mainly low-power. The company is preparing to cooperate with other companies in 2010 to develop a high-power lighting market. "Our focus is on low power, and we hope to achieve new breakthroughs in light power and reliability of low power. Our packaged products are different from other similar products." Long Wei said. The company's lighting sources all use their own packaged LED light source.

According to General Long, the lights installed in all offices and walkways of Changguang are all test samples developed by the company last year. "Our LED fluorescent system cooling system is better than the general-purpose patch or LED Fluorescent Tube made by LED in the market." Director Long Wei told reporters. Changguang's main products in the market are bulbs, fluorescent lamps, spotlights, downlights and related system lighting solutions.

At present, the long-light packaged light source products can achieve a luminous efficacy of up to 130 lm/W, and the 3-watt light source products can provide a luminous flux of 390 lm. “The new 4W and 6W bulbs developed by Changguang have achieved a luminous efficiency of 100 lm/W, and the luminous efficiency of fluorescent energy-saving lamps is about 50-60 lm/W. The efficacy of LED lamps has completely exceeded that of energy-saving lamps. Long said. In the field of indoor lighting, LED lamps have completely surpassed traditional lamps in terms of light efficiency and longevity.

Now the price of LED indoor lamps is about three to four times that of energy-saving lamps. The price of a good Philips energy-saving lamp is about 20-30 yuan, and the service life is about two years. Recycling costs can be achieved in one to two years. If LED lamps can truly achieve 30,000 hours, they have a cost advantage compared with energy-saving lamps, Long said. Many companies claim to be able to achieve a life of 50,000 hours, but 50,000 hours of experiments have not been done by companies. Foreign tests generally measure 3000-6000 hours, and the light decay does not exceed 8%. If this requirement is met, the life expectancy can basically be 30,000 hours. Changguang has been testing for 8,000 hours.

The driving power supply is an important part of the LED luminaire. The efficiency and reliability of the driving power supply also directly affect the main technical specifications and life of the product. Since the current requirements for indoor lighting are relatively small, the requirements for the driving power source are relatively low compared to outdoor lighting. "The weakest part of the indoor lighting power supply is the capacitor, and the IC and other components can basically meet the requirements of the product." Many indoor lighting manufacturers are designing their own power supplies. The size of indoor lighting fixtures is relatively small. Generally, the power supply is placed inside the luminaire. It is necessary to design high-efficiency, high-reliability and various safety-compliant drives in a small volume. Power supply is also an important issue for LED lighting companies. All of Changguang's lamps have independent intellectual property rights. At present, Changguang has more than ten patents, and a number of patents are being filed, including two invention patents.

With the advancement of technology, the price of LED lamps will decline year by year, and how much will fall. Different people have different opinions. Long Wei believes that it will drop by about 20% every year. If the price can drop to 30-40 yuan, the average family should be more acceptable. LED technology determines that it needs heat, power, and light, and the cost is not as good as incandescent.

Long Wei believes that in the commercial field, the current price of LED lamps has been accepted by customers. The customer's request is to maintain a luminous flux maintenance rate of about 80% after 3-5 years, but there are not many products on the market that can reach this level. LED bulbs can also be purchased in Huaqiangbeihua forty or fifty yuan, but its luminous efficacy is less than 40 lm/W. To truly replace traditional lighting, it is still necessary to make quality, especially light efficiency and longevity.

At present, Changguang has started the research and development of LED street lamps. It is estimated that there will be test samples in the first quarter of 2010, and related work may cooperate with other companies. Long believes that the current LED technology is not mature enough. This year's test results of Shenzhen's ten cities show that there are still many areas that need to be improved and improved in terms of light efficiency, light decay and light distribution.

Independent research and development of low power integrated packaging technology

 

The chips used by Changguang are mostly in Taiwan and abroad. "If you pay for a penny, the cost of good products will be relatively high." Long said. Although the domestic chips are cheaper, they are still inferior in terms of brightness, etc. The price of the chips largely determines the price of the lamps.

Long light also has its own packaging production line while doing lighting, mainly for low power integrated packaging. It is packaged into a 3 watt or 5W light source by dozens of low power chips. The company's packaged products are mainly used by themselves, and basically no external sales.

In December 2009, Changguang Semiconductor Lighting held a press conference and released an independently developed LED surface light source technology based on multi-chip integrated COB direct packaging. This light source can achieve 130lm/W light efficiency, and the bulb light has a whole light rate of 100 lm/W. It is the industry's highest light-efficiency multi-chip integrated package surface light source.

In September 2009, Japan's Matsushita and Sharp launched LED bulbs. The price in the European and American markets was about $40, and the system efficacy was 85 lm/W. It was claimed to be the most energy-efficient product in the industry.

At present, a few LED street lamp manufacturers use high-power integrated packaged LED light sources, and Long Wei does not agree with this approach. He believes that it is better not to achieve more than ten watts for integrated packaged light source modules, otherwise the heat dissipation problem is difficult to solve. The company's integrated packaged light source is mainly used for indoor lighting. Changguang is also actively developing LED street lights. They are preparing to use LED light street lights with multiple low-power (3W) integrated package modules.

According to the reporter's understanding, they may be the first company to adopt such a program. This solution can avoid the heat problem caused by a single tens of watts of heat being too concentrated, and because of the use of a small power chip, the efficiency is increased and the cost is reduced. The program also has excellent performance in terms of heat dissipation. It is said that Changguang's COB direct package light source eliminates the PCB and reflow soldering process. Achieve low thermal resistance: the thermal resistance of the entire light source is 4 ° C / w, while the thermal resistance of a typical single-chip light source is 15-20 ° C / w (light source + PCB). Compared with the tens of watts of large light source modules, the smaller the drive current, the more stable the performance, and this solution effectively reduces the current.

Design products in accordance with ENERGY STAR standards

At present, the national LED lighting standards have not come out (some standards came out last month), which has a great impact on LED lighting manufacturers. Long light luminaire design is based on foreign energy star standards. If all companies are designed with reference to the ENERGY STAR standard, the national standard may eventually lead to the ENERGY STAR standard. The European and American indoor lighting market is the largest market in the world, which is one of the reasons why Changguang refers to the Energy Star standard design.

With the advancement of the ten cities, the national standard for LED street lamps will be introduced first, but the national standard for indoor lighting will still have to wait for a while. The company is a member of the Shenzhen LED Standards Alliance, which will develop relevant local standards. Long Wei said that if there is no standard, even third-party testing can't be done, and many bidding projects require test reports.

Long told reporters that the current third-party test of LED lamps is more popular with UL and CE. They cooperated with China Testing last year to do some CE and ROHS certifications for lamps, and successfully passed the relevant tests. With the further improvement of LED technology and the development of the industry, more and more attention will be paid to the test standards. Only by complying with the requirements of high standards can the products be designed to gain advantages in the future market.
