There are already two states in the United States that allow robots to be delivered without the need for someone to accompany them.

In recent years, the express delivery industry has undergone a tremendous transformation, and various types of robots are trying to take away the work of the courier brother. After a number of companies tested drones, ground delivery robots began to take the road.

At the beginning of this month, Virginia passed a bill that allowed ground-delivery robots to get on the road. Today Idaho (northwestern United States) became the second state to approve delivery robots on the road, but this bill was July 1 this year. Will be formally effective.

It is reported that the beneficiaries of this bill are mainly the robotic delivery company Starship Technologies, which wants to solve the "last mile" problem of express delivery.

There are already two states in the United States that allow robots to be delivered without the need for someone to accompany them.

Previously, Amazon and 7-11 convenience stores attempted to deliver via drones, but the US federal law required drones to fly within the operator's line of sight.

In the future, if the bill on ground-based delivery robots can be passed in various states, the popularity of this service will definitely lead the drone delivery.

After the Idaho Act came into force, the ground delivery robot can carry out the delivery work without the need for a dedicated person, which means that the entire delivery process can be fully automated.

However, the company still needs to provide remote monitoring personnel for the delivery robots. Once the delivery robot is in trouble, they need to help quickly.

At the same time, the bill also stipulates that the delivery robot must not exceed 10 mph (about 16 km / h).

Similar to the Virginia Act, Idaho also gives options to subordinate towns, and governments at all levels can limit the area and speed of delivery robots based on actual conditions.

Although Starship is the main driver of the bill, it is still unknown whether the company is ready to enter the US market. In addition to Virginia and Idaho, Wisconsin and Florida are also discussing the bill.

Of course, the new bill also provides an opportunity for other companies' delivery robots, and in the future they can quickly advance their own businesses in the above states.
