Conexant Systems introduced the CX25828, a highly flexible 8-channel video / audio decoder designed for surveillance applications. CX25828 has 8 high-quality NTSC / PAL video decoders, 9 audio ADCs and 1 audio digital-to-analog converter (Digital-to-Analog Converter) for audio playback or two-way communication applications.
The new system-on-chip (SoC) is one of Conexant's latest product series, designed for advanced high-capacity DVR video surveillance products, which can simultaneously capture and record multiple video streams. Conexant's CX25828 designed a 10-bit ADC and a 5-line comb filter to achieve the best color separation, which can generate the highest quality digital video output and produce the smallest noise and cross-luminance / cross-chroma artifacts. In addition, the decoder is optimized to lock the input with low signal levels and line-locked cameras, both of which can be found in video surveillance systems. With optimal flexibility, the CX25828 can provide a two-way bridge between video and audio data, and connect through GPIO and I2C interfaces.
