After an overload occurs, the circuit breaker may feel warm, but it should not be touched directly. Once the temperature cools down, the switch can be reset manually. This type of trip is usually temporary and does not indicate a serious problem.
When dealing with a leakage trip, one effective method is to isolate the circuit. Start by turning off the leakage switch and unplugging all devices connected to it. Then, reconnect each appliance one by one while monitoring the switch. If the switch trips again when a specific device is connected, that device is likely the cause of the issue. This method helps identify the faulty appliance quickly and safely.
However, some situations are more complex. For example, if the leakage is caused by a faulty air conditioner compressor, it may only trip when the unit is running, making it harder to diagnose. Similarly, street lights may trip due to moisture during rain, especially if the lamp heads become wet. These issues often require professional assistance for proper diagnosis and repair. Always prioritize safety and consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about the source of the problem.
