On January 12, 2018, LG Electronics unveiled its latest OLED commercial display products at an event held in the artistic Beijing 798 C9 MEE PARK. The theme of the launch was "Ling Chong's Rewards - Designers' Night," hosted by LG and organized by KTV. The event attracted numerous industry designers, offering them a glimpse into the future of design through LG’s cutting-edge OLED technology and innovative product cases. This launch marked the beginning of a new era for flexible OLED commercial displays in the design industry.
During the press conference, Wang Gang, Director of Commercial Display Sales at LG Electronics, and Zhao Gengfei, Chairman of Ke Film & Television (Beijing) Information Technology Co., Ltd., delivered inspiring speeches. Wang Xu, LG’s Commercial Display Technology Manager, and Gong Xiuquan, Product Director at KTV, provided detailed insights into LG’s new product lineup and development strategies. Additionally, renowned Korean designer Huang Zhenyuan shared valuable perspectives on LG OLED product design concepts and real-world applications.
The event showcased a variety of LG OLED displays, highlighting their ultra-thin design and flexible splicing capabilities. Attendees had the chance to experience the new products up close, enjoying a truly immersive visual experience. One of the most eye-catching displays was a seven-screen curved setup made from seven 55-inch 55EF5C models. Its unique design and vibrant color reproduction captivated the audience, while its flexibility allowed it to adapt to various environments, especially high-end commercial spaces and art venues.
Another highlight was a wavy screen composed of three 65-inch dual-sided curved 65EE5PC units. Their ultra-thin design and exceptional OLED performance created an artistic effect, making them ideal for airports, shopping malls, and exhibition halls. Other notable displays included the 55EG5CD glass-integrated model, displayed in a suspended manner, and the 55EH5C dual-plane display, installed floor-to-floor. Each model demonstrated different installation methods, offering versatile solutions for advertising and public space displays.
A 55-inch wallpaper-style 55EJ5D model was also showcased, blending seamlessly with its surroundings like a piece of artwork. In addition to OLED displays, an 86-inch LCD wide bar display with a 32:9 aspect ratio was presented, offering a unique viewing experience. It could be used individually or spliced together to create dynamic display environments.
LG’s OLED technology, with its self-luminous properties, allows for thinner, lighter, and more versatile designs. The ultra-wide viewing angle, infinite contrast, and accurate color reproduction make it ideal for design applications. This event not only highlighted LG’s leadership in the OLED commercial display market but also marked a strategic partnership between LG and KTV, positioning them as key players in the design and digital display industry.
At the ceremony, KTV was officially appointed as the general distributor of LG OLED displays in Greater China. With a strong focus on creative design and digital solutions, KTV is well-positioned to drive innovation in public space exhibitions. This collaboration between two industry leaders sets a new benchmark for future developments in commercial display technology.
