The "SPVQC Series" dual-circuit micro switch, developed by Alpine, is a surface-mount type switch designed for high reliability and safety applications. This new model was launched in June, offering an advanced solution for automotive electronics, particularly for electronic parking brake (EPB) systems that are becoming increasingly common in Europe, the U.S., and South Korea. In EPB systems, where security is critical, a fail-safe circuit is typically used to ensure system redundancy. Traditionally, two micro switches were used to provide backup, but this setup can sometimes lead to issues at low speeds, such as inconsistent ON/OFF timing or contact failure due to dust or contamination. To address these challenges, our company has introduced the "SPVQC Series," a dual-circuit sliding contact micro switch specifically designed for surface mounting. Building on the success of our earlier "SPVQ9 Series," which pioneered the dual-circuit sliding contact structure and captured over 50% of the European market, the SPVQC Series continues to deliver superior performance in terms of dust resistance, vibration tolerance, and contact reliability. This product features a compact design, with a lateral dimension reduced by 1 mm compared to previous models. Its two-sided sliding contact mechanism ensures consistent pressure on the contacts throughout the entire operating range, providing stable and reliable switching performance. Combined with a snap-action mechanism, it delivers constant contact stability regardless of operating position or speed. With a switching time of less than 15 ms between the two circuits, the SPVQC Series allows for the construction of a fail-safe system using just one switch, reducing both cost and space requirements.
