When Google first announced Daydream’s VR headlines, they also announced that they would cooperate with a series of smart phone manufacturers, including China’s ZTE. In the summer of 2016, ZTE released the flagship mobile phone Axon 7, which has also been confirmed to be compatible with Daydream. Now that ZTE has launched Android 7.0, in addition to the Android Nougat update, it also brought support for Daydream features and became the cheapest Daydream handset (priced at US$400).
Although Google is working with Samsung, Huawei, Alcatel, Asustek, HTC, LG, Xiaomi and ZTE to develop Daydream compatible devices. But since Daydream was released in November, these vendors have not had much movement. Google's own Pixel is using Daydream's main equipment.

As the flagship smartphone of ZTE, Axon 7 is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 5.5-inch high-definition AMOLED display, 4GB RAM, 20MP hybrid rear camera and 8MP front camera, dual Hi-Fi high-quality speakers and Dolby Atmos surround sound, and dual SIM card slots.
For Daydream, early 2017 was relatively calm, with only a handful of software available. One of the more popular is Bait!, the VR fishing software NextVR and Resolution Games. In contrast, the Samsung Gear VR has more than 1 million users.
